Nomada Studio was formed by Adrián Cuevas and Roger Mendoza, who had previously worked for larger studios making AAA games, after they met visual artist Conrad Roset. The trio began building a skilled team that combined experienced developers with artists of differing disciplines from the world outside of videogames. To create their first game, the gorgeous GRIS, Nomada constructed a gameplay concept around Conrad’s artwork and enlisted Berlinist to create original music.
MINIT was created by a collective of independent developers, consisting of Kitty Calis (who worked on games like Action Henk and Horizon Zero Dawn), Jan Willem Nijman (aka JW, also half of Vlambeer, makers of Nuclear Throne), Jukio Kallio (composer and musician), and Dominik Johann (graphic designer and illustrator, who also worked on Hotline Miami 2, among other games).
Sabotage Studio was formed by Martin Brouard and Thierry Boulanger in 2016 to construct THE MESSENGER, about a young ninja who ventures through a cursed world to deliver a scroll paramount to his clan’s survival in a demon-haunted world. Among many accolades and glowing reviews, the game earned Sabotage the Ubisoft Indie Series 2018 Award.
DeadToast Entertainment is one guy: Victor Ågren, an independent videogame developer who began creating games as a child and teenager. He began creating My Friend Pedro on Flash before being hired by Media Molecule as a Level Designer. In this role, Victor contributed to games like LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, and Tearaway.
Moppin is Ojiro Fumoto, who began developing games in 2015 and whose raw talent led him to create the breakout indie smash hit DOWNWELL, published by Devolver Digital, that same year. Ojiro was hired by Nintendo and worked there throughout most of 2018, then left the company to return to his roots as an independent videogame developer.
Dodge Roll was formed mainly by former employees of Mythic Entertainment, and the company’s first game is ENTER THE GUNGEON. The Gungeon team includes designer/producer Dave Crooks, gameplay programmer David Rubel, technical artist Brent Sodman, artist Joe Harty, sound effects artist Erica Hampson, and musician Adam “doseone” Drucker.
